Ann Coon Revisits 2009 Devotional Work in Updated Edition on Forgiveness and Grace

Ann Coon has released an updated edition of "A Spiritual Code of Ethics (Revisited and Updated): Spirit’s Call to Move Forward, Upward, and Onward," a collection of short spiritual reflections first published in 2009, according to the publisher’s announcement.

Through meditations incorporating the Beatitudes, Psalm 100, and the Fruits of the Spirit, the work explores themes of forgiveness, grace, and spiritual transformation. The announcement frames the update as a return to that earlier material for a present-day readership, though it does not detail what, specifically, has changed from the original text.

Drawing from her experience as a nurse and mother, Coon brings perspective shaped by her Pennsylvania coal country origins and current California home. This is not her first book: ten years after the original "Spiritual Code of Ethics," she wrote "From Beyond the Grave," a work honoring family elders she credits with shaping her faith.

"This book was not written so much as received," Coon said in the announcement. "I offer these reflections as words spoken from the heart of Spirit to the heart of the reader, hoping that those who feel called to deeper faith will find in these pages the permission and encouragement they need to begin again."

The book is published through Christian Faith Publishing and is available at bookstores and through major online retailers including Amazon, Google Play, Apple’s iTunes Store, and Barnes and Noble.

Studio CarryOnHarry notes that revisiting a decade-old devotional text, rather than writing a wholly new one, is its own kind of statement about which ideas an author believes still hold up — and which ones needed another pass.
