E. E. Stevens’ New Book ‘My Time as a Second-Class Citizen’ Is the Account of a Man’s Attempt to Make Sense of His Life Following the Dramatic Turn It Took for the Worse

Press Release

updated: Apr 27, 2021

E. E. Stevens, a self-described history buff and first-time author, has completed his most recent book “My Time as a Second-Class Citizen”: a powerful narrative about the experiences of a security-officer-turned-convict.

Stevens writes, “Prison. The word conjures up thoughts of oppression, violence, and misery. An apt description. Follow along the personal experiences of a former police officer, who found out firsthand what it means when the law does not factor the intent of the criminal, forcing him to plead guilty to a crime that was unwittingly committed. From a corrupt system to vile living conditions, from apathetic corrections officers to a system that does nothing to rehabilitate men, learn one man’s experience just trying to survive the Michigan Department of Corrections…all while keeping his sanity, attempting to piece together a failing marriage and hoping to be reunited with a father he just met before it’s too late.”

Published by Fulton Books, E. E. Stevens’ book follows the true story of a security officer convicted of a crime he did not commit.

The book’s first-person perspective allows its readers into a more intimate view of the author’s various experiences. As such, the readers become witnesses to his struggles, growth, and eventual redemption.

Readers who wish to experience this inspiring work can purchase “My Time as a Second-Class Citizen” at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iTunes Store, Amazon, Google Play or Barnes & Noble.
