Frederick Sserugga’s New Book Offers Year-Round Scripture Reflections for Catholic Readers

Frederick Sserugga has published "Your Word Is a Lamp Unto My Feet and A Light Unto My Path, Vol. 1," a devotional resource organized around the Church’s liturgical calendar, according to the announcement.

The book is structured in three sections. The first offers reflections tied to weekday Scripture readings for liturgical years A and B, allowing readers to follow along with daily readings used in Catholic worship across a two-year cycle. The announcement describes the work as meticulously organized, intended for readers looking to build a sustained, structured practice of engaging with Scripture rather than an occasional one.

The liturgical years A and B structure situates the book within the three-year lectionary cycle used in Catholic and some other liturgical traditions, where Sunday and weekday readings rotate on a set schedule tied to the Gospels. A volume built around that cycle is designed to be used alongside daily Mass readings over an extended period rather than read straight through.

Studio CarryOnHarry sees books like this filling a narrow but durable niche: readers who want their devotional reading paced to the liturgical calendar itself, not just organized by theme.
