International Association of Women Recognizes Palma Mingozzi as a 2019-2020 Influencer

Palma Mingozzi, President of Create a Message Foundation, joins networking organization

Press Release

updated: Nov 12, 2019

The International Association of Women (IAW) recognizes Palma Mingozzi as a 2019-2020 Influencer. She is acknowledged as a leader in entrepreneurship. The International Association of Women (IAW) is a global in-person and online networking platform with more than 100 local chapters, international chapters in several cities in China and 1000+ in-person and virtual events.

“I’m pleased to welcome Palma into this exceptional group of professional women,” said IPDN President and IAW Spokesperson Star Jones.

Palma Mingozzi was born in Luxembourg and immigrated with her family to the U.S. at the age of 12. Raised in Brooklyn, she eventually married and moved to Staten Island, where she lives today.

Passionate about art since she was a young girl, Ms. Mingozzi pursued a career in business but ultimately began to explore her creative side again through painting and writing. She has had her work exhibited in Staten Island and Italy and was President of the South Shore Artist Group Foundation. Six months ago, she was inspired to bring art workshops for healing and survival to the community.

“I am an artist and writer. I use both art and poetry to express emotion, bring awareness and foster empowerment,” Ms. Mingozzi said. “As President of Create a Message Foundation, I am responsible for creating workshops, ideas, possibilities and solutions with the arts, including sketching, painting, sculpting and writing.”

Although it can be challenging to find art spaces for exhibitions, as well as critics, collectors and galleries, Ms. Mingozzi is committed to creating a center that will accommodate and inspire a growing community of artists.

“My future goal is to have an art center built on the South Shore of Staten Island to accommodate the entire community with the development of sculptures and paintings, and engage and present the public with multi-faceted conversations in reference to the arts,” she said. Ms. Mingozzi also sees the center as a museum and art gallery. Workshops would be offered and there would be meeting rooms, performing art spaces and much more. An emphasis would be placed on cultivating all the arts, from painting to writing to music to literature.

Ms. Mingozzi is working with Antonio De Santis, an Italian-born architect/artist, to make this vision a reality. He has worked on numerous proposals for New York City and is a longtime member of the South Shore Artist Group Foundation.

“The development would include the immediate recuperation, restoration and access of historic homes and value, with accessibility throughout the island and for the disabled,” Ms. Mingozzi added. “My goal is to create a vital community of artists from the visual arts to the performing arts field.”
