Cathedral City, CA, May 19, 2023 –(CarryOnHarry.com)– R.L. Mata has completed his new audiobook, “Prairie Moon Blue Moon Bar and Café”: a stirring and captivating tale that finds two individuals arriving in a small town for vastly different reasons, with one searching for answers while the other seeks a place of hiding.

“Two roads converge and two journeys end at a small, unpromising town called Stoneridge on the high plains of northeast Colorado,” writes Mata. “Roy Mathis is headed there by car, his head full of inchoate memories and reveries in search of his father, his sister, and context for a fragmented life. Fleeing his mother, who refuses to tell him anything that would help him in his quest, Roy sets his sights on the only desperate hope for a clue in the forgotten whistle-stop town.

“Father Fritz has arrived in another way: he has been banished. Though his notorious conduct with young charges has been exposed, Fritz has been up to much worse, as only he knows.”

Published by Audiobook Network, author R.L. Mata’s new audiobook is the second installment in the author’s “Prairie Moon” trilogy and will capture the imaginations of listeners as they follow along on Roy’s search for answers about his past that may ultimately guide his future. Riveting and expertly paced, this character-driven tale will leave listeners on the edge of the seats, as secrets are slowly revealed, and lives are forever changed in a seemingly innocuous small town.

Listeners can purchase the audiobook edition of “Prairie Moon Blue Moon Bar and Café” by R.L. Mata through Audible, the Apple iTunes store, or Amazon.

Audiobooks are the fastest growing segment in the digital publishing industry. According to The Infinite Dial 2019, 50% of Americans age 12 and older have listened to an audiobook. This huge growth can be partly attributed to increased listening in cars, which surpassed the home as the #1 audiobook listening location in the 2019 survey. Smart speaker proliferation also bodes well for future listening growth and more mainstream listening.

New Children’s Book Follows Three Boys Through County Fair Livestock Week

Balle Balle Radio™ Entertainment Desk

Leslie J. Weatherford has published a new children’s book, "Farmer Fuzzy Pants Goes to the Fair," which follows three boys, Matt, Mark, and Joey, through a week of raising and showing livestock at the county fair. The book is out now through Page Publishing.

The story centers on fair week itself: stalls that need cleaning daily, animals that need tending, and a tractor pull along the way, all building toward an auction where the boys’ months of work with their cows, pigs, and chickens get put to the test. According to the book’s description, one of the three, Joey, has specific plans for what he wants to do with his earnings, but has to prove he’s put in the work before the bidding starts. The book is categorized as juvenile fiction and draws on real details of fair life, from animal tagging to auction-day bidding, to give young readers a sense of what livestock competition actually involves.

Weatherford, drawing on her Michigan heritage, started creating children’s stories in 2024 following her experience as a parent. "Farmer Fuzzy Pants Goes to the Fair" is her recent release under Page Publishing.

"I wanted to create a story that shows children how hard work translates into real results," Weatherford said in a statement, adding that she hopes readers see Matt, Mark, and Joey’s journey as proof that showing up every day and caring for responsibilities pays off in ways that go beyond ribbons and trophies.

The book is available at bookstores and online through Amazon, Apple Books, Google Play, and Barnes & Noble.

Studio CarryOnHarry sees this as part of a steady stream of agricultural-life stories aimed at young readers who may never set foot on a farm, and that alone makes the genre worth keeping an eye on.

Amanda Solomon’s New Novel “Liberty” Follows a Woman Rebuilding Her Life in Laguna Beach

Balle Balle Radio™ Entertainment Desk

Amanda Solomon has published a new novel, "Liberty," centered on a woman who relocates to Laguna Beach, California, to put a painful past behind her and start over. The book is available now through Page Publishing, in bookstores and through major online retailers including Amazon, Apple Books, Google Play, and Barnes & Noble.

According to the book’s description, the protagonist’s fresh start takes an unexpected turn when she meets Duncan, who becomes a close confidant. Their relationship gradually surfaces secrets tied to her past, a thread that drives the novel’s central tension between forgetting and reckoning with what came before. An audiobook edition has also been released, running just over four hours and narrated by Olivia Liebe. The print edition runs 126 pages.

Solomon has said her interest in writing began with poetry in school, and she has pointed to Nicholas Sparks and Colleen Hoover as influences on her fiction, both known for relationship-driven, emotionally direct storytelling — a lineage that tracks with "Liberty"’s premise of self-discovery through friendship.

"This story is a deeply personal one," Solomon said in a statement, "and I hope it will inspire readers to embrace the power of resilience and the redemptive qualities of friendship."

Studio CarryOnHarry will be watching whether the audiobook, with a named narrator already attached, helps the book find an audience beyond the usual churn of small-press debut fiction.
