Author Barbara Ann Munster’s New Audiobook, “Developing Values,” Reveals How the Author’s Experiences Impacted Her View of Family, Community, and the World

Berkeley, CA, June 09, 2023 –(CarryOnHarry.com)– Barbara Ann Munster, a loving mother of three and a certified spiritual director, energy healer, and open space technologist, has completed her new audiobook, “Developing Values: Go Forth with Courage”: a poignant self-help book that draws the author’s own lived experiences to help listeners examine one’s own truths and what values matter to them.

Originally from the Bay Area in California, author Barbara Ann Munster graduated with a BA in Psychology, an MA in Public Administration, and an MA in Holistic Studies. Her first career focused on developing and directing programs that served the mentally and emotionally challenged. Her second career focused on creating stained glass windows, oil paintings, and writing. From the time she was a teenager, she volunteered in various community programs and has served as president for the Castro Valley/Hayward Rotary, Widgi Creek Homeowners Association, CORIL, and Bend Habitat for Humanity.

“I have been deeply concerned about the ‘lack of values’ we are experiencing in our communities,” writes Munster. “In the past, churches, families, and communities helped guide people as they matured. These groups have drastically lost their influence. Now the question remains, how do we move ahead with healthy, responsible families with life-giving values? Drastic changes are taking place in our lives, communities and in nature. Sometimes these changes are so complex that they seem overwhelming. The important factor to remember is that all we need to do is take one step, and the next step will unfold. Each of us is capable of taking one step toward making our world a better place. What we need now is to focus on the tools to make changes, and a belief that change is possible.”

Munster continues, “I began writing my history of experiences so I could better understand the influencing factors that impacted and broadened my understanding of life. In describing life, I hoped to learn why and what I believe. I understand my childhood beliefs are not the same as when I became an adult, but what caused the changes? Are more changes needed? What basic values affected my survival and that of our communities? What I realized is that my experiences were a series of major elements: three marriages (Moon, Lawson, Munster), three children (Keith, Lori, Lesli), three careers (mother, director, artist), and three traits (endurance, creativity, kindness). By reflecting on my experiences, I saw how I grew and expanded ideas to be healthier and inclusive. I began to realize the influencing factors so I could consciously choose to uphold some values and drop others that are no longer valuable.”

Published by Audiobook Network, author Barbara Ann Munster’s new audiobook will guide listeners through the author’s life journey, providing insightful advice to help discover what truly drives oneself amongst the ever-shifting landscape of the world. Thought-provoking and poignant, Munster looks back on the influencing factors of her own life and discusses how they can be an example for listeners to examine their own truths.

Listeners can purchase the audiobook edition of “Developing Values: Go Forth with Courage” by Barbara Ann Munster through Audible, the Apple iTunes store, or Amazon.

Audiobooks are the fastest growing segment in the digital publishing industry. According to The Infinite Dial 2019, 50% of Americans age 12 and older have listened to an audiobook. This huge growth can be partly attributed to increased listening in cars, which surpassed the home as the #1 audiobook listening location in the 2019 survey. Smart speaker proliferation also bodes well for future listening growth and more mainstream listening.

Ex-XM Executive’s Memoir Recalls Satellite Radio Launch Delayed by 9/11

Balle Balle Radio™ Entertainment Desk

Twenty-five years after the September 11 attacks postponed its debut, a founding XM executive has released a memoir about the satellite radio company’s launch. "They Pay for Water: Building XM Satellite Radio from a Paper Concept to Millions of Subscribers," by Dan Murphy, went on sale August 17 in ebook, paperback and hardcover, according to the announcement.

The company was set to launch its inaugural U.S. satellite radio service on September 12, 2001, in the Dallas/Fort Worth and San Diego markets. Murphy and the executive team flew out of Washington, D.C. in the early morning hours of September 11, per the announcement. The launch was pushed back, going live September 25 and expanding nationally by that November.

After joining Sony as a 24-year-old with minimal prior experience, Murphy spent 15 years helping to capitalize, build, and launch XM’s satellite infrastructure, create its receivers, and establish distribution channels in retail and automotive sectors., the announcement states. "After Walkman, Discman, I was looking to join the next big audio innovation when a recruiter called," Murphy said. "It sounded perfect. It was going to be radio the way it should be."

The volume addresses the company’s funding rounds, satellite deployment, distribution challenges across retail and automotive channels, programming strategy, customer economics, multiple Chapter 11 threats, and its ultimate acquisition by Sirius., according to the announcement. "We had spent years getting ready for the biggest launch of our careers, and then the country stopped," Murphy said. "For weeks afterward, I did not know whether anyone would still care about satellite radio."

Positioned as both corporate history and personal narrative, the book targets audiences seeking insight into the construction of major consumer-facing ventures requiring substantial capital investment. — a framing the announcement ties to ongoing debates in the audio industry over subscription economics. It is Murphy’s first book and is available now on Amazon.

‘SALIGIA’ Inverts the Seven Deadly Sins: New Book Explores Virtues Through Mythological Fantasy

Balle Balle Radio Entertainment Desk

Author Tagore Almeida’s new book, “SALIGIA: The Evil Is Outside. The War Is Within.,” is now available on Amazon, according to the announcement promoting the release.

The title is not invented for the book. SALIGIA is a centuries-old Latin mnemonic device used in Christian theology to remember the seven deadly sins: Superbia (pride), Avaritia (greed), Luxuria (lust), Invidia (envy), Gula (gluttony), Ira (wrath) and Acedia (sloth). The sins themselves never appear as an explicit list in the Bible; the grouping developed within early Christian tradition, drawing on scattered biblical passages, and the acronym became a memory aid for clergy and laypeople alike. The announcement itself does not spell out this connection, though it’s central to how the book’s central conceit works.

Where the traditional mnemonic catalogs vices, Almeida’s book inverts it: according to the announcement, the story is structured as a journey through a symbolic ancestral dwelling with separate rooms, each embodying different virtues rather than sins — courage, compassion, humility, integrity, forgiveness, reverence and love. Other promotional material describes the book as a mythological fantasy following characters named Salem and Medea on a quest against the forces the title names, and credits the release to publisher The Alcove Publishers, which has described the book as blending mythology, self-reflection and mystery.

The announcement frames the project as “a fusion of mythological elements, spiritual themes, philosophical inquiry, and personal exploration,” built around the idea that readers already possess the virtues the book examines, rather than seeking them from external sources.

The book is currently listed for sale on Amazon under Almeida’s author page.
