Florida Author Kimberly Maher’s New Satire Imagines World Leaders Facing a Chicken Rebellion
Balle Balle Radio™ Entertainment Desk
Kimberly Maher has published "Book 15: Dear Mr. President DJT and All World Leaders," a political satire told through a flock of chickens who rise up against human authority, according to the publisher’s announcement. The book is out now through Page Publishing.
The story follows High Hen Harriet and a cast of allegorical animal characters, including General Gobbler, Sister Sparrow, Commodore Cormorant and Professor Plover, as they organize what the announcement calls the Great Molting: an uprising demanding recognition, equity and sovereignty from a lineup of real-world leaders named in the book, including Trump, Xi, Putin, Macron and Zelenskyy. A governing body called the High Council of the Cluck issues a list of demands that includes Free-Range Republics, "feed justice," United Nations representation through an eagle ambassador, and an end to derogatory language aimed at animals.
The publisher’s description places the book’s tone somewhere between George Orwell’s "Animal Farm" and Douglas Adams’ "The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy," pairing political allegory with broad comedy. Plot elements described in the announcement include a social-media campaign called #CluckTheVote, vegan wolves joining the flock’s cause, leashed foxes turned allies, global egg embargoes, and demonstrations staged outside Mar-a-Lago.
Maher is a Florida-based caregiver and human rights consultant who founded LifeMap HQ, a platform focused on pathways to personal empowerment, according to the announcement. That background, the publisher states, shaped a narrative concerned with marginalization and systemic injustice, translated here into barnyard allegory.
"Through satire and allegory, I sought to spark genuine dialogue about equity and freedom," Maher said in the announcement. "My flock demanded their voices be heard, and I simply transcribed their clarion call: one that invites leaders and readers alike to reimagine what justice looks like when we listen to those we’ve ignored for too long."
The book is available through Page Publishing’s website, major bookstores, and retailers including Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Google Play and the Apple iTunes Store.
Studio CarryOnHarry will be watching whether satire built around a sitting president and named world leaders finds an audience beyond readers already inclined to agree with its politics.

New Poetry Collection “Cynically Speaking” Takes Aim at Political Theater and Social Hypocrisy
Balle Balle Radio™ Entertainment Desk
Evelyn Polisar has released "Cynically Speaking," a poetry collection that the author describes as an effort to put into words what she observes in the world without blunting any of it, according to the announcement of the release.
The collection takes on bureaucratic dysfunction, social hypocrisy, and the gap between what institutions promise and what they deliver, per the announcement. Polisar, who has spent years developing what the release calls an eye for institutional folly and human behavior, writes in short, direct verse aimed at readers who want their own skepticism reflected back at them rather than softened.
"This collection emerged from my need to articulate what I see around me without softening the edges," Polisar said in the announcement. "I wanted to create something that felt true, even when — or especially when — that truth is uncomfortable."
The publisher’s description frames the book’s approach as turning cynicism into something closer to clarity than complaint, presenting honest disillusionment as a starting point rather than a dead end. Whether that lands as insight or simply as venting will likely depend on the reader’s own appetite for unsparing commentary on contemporary life.
"Cynically Speaking" is published through Page Publishing and is available at bookstores and through major online retailers including Amazon, Apple Books, Google Play, and Barnes & Noble.
Studio CarryOnHarry will be curious to see whether readers drawn to political satire in verse find this collection lands with the specificity that genre demands, or leans more on tone than target.

Author Amber Pedemonte’s New Memoir “Withered” Chronicles a Decade of Domestic Abuse and Her Path Out
Balle Balle Radio™ Entertainment Desk
Amber Pedemonte has published a memoir, "Withered: Abuse, Addiction & Adultery," detailing ten years of domestic violence and what she describes as the psychological control that kept her trapped long after any single incident ended. The book is out now through Page Publishing, available at major retailers including Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Apple iTunes, and Google Play.
According to the announcement, Pedemonte spent a decade enduring fear and manipulation from an abuser, and found that the deeper damage was the self-doubt instilled in her over that time. The narrative follows the pivotal moments that propelled her from mere survival toward genuine strength and freedom.
Pedemonte writes from a background as a medical professional, first responder, and caregiver to developmentally disabled individuals, according to the announcement. She grew up in California’s Bay Area and now lives in Southern Florida, where she has rebuilt her life with her husband and their three sons. On social media, Pedemonte has described sharing the book as something that once felt impossible, calling it a story about abuse, addiction, adultery, and the strength it takes to survive and find a way forward.
"I wrote this memoir for every person who has felt imprisoned by another’s cruelty and their own internalized shame," Pedemonte said in the announcement. "If my story helps even one person recognize their worth and find the courage to walk away, then every vulnerable word was worth sharing."
The publisher describes the memoir as aimed at readers who are themselves navigating an abusive relationship or struggling with self-worth after one, presenting it as a demonstration that healing is possible and life beyond trauma can flourish with unexpected beauty and purpose. Studio CarryOnHarry sees memoirs like this one as part of a steady stream of survivor-written accounts that have found an audience well beyond traditional publishing’s gatekeepers, and that’s worth noting regardless of how any one title performs.
