Retired Aerospace Engineer Matt Landry Publishes Book on Teilhard de Chardin and the Science-Religion Divide

Matt Landry, a retired aerospace engineer based in Denver, authored "The Evolutionary Lens of Teilhard de Chardin," a 440-page book examining how the ideas of the French Jesuit priest and paleontologist Pierre Teilhard de Chardin might offer a way to reconcile scientific and religious understandings of human origins.

The book, published through Page Publishing, was released in January 2026 and runs 440 pages in paperback, according to publisher listings. An audiobook edition, narrated by John Bundy, is also available.

Teilhard de Chardin, who died in 1955, spent much of his career trying to fit the theory of evolution into a Christian theological framework, arguing that the universe was moving toward greater complexity and consciousness rather than unfolding by chance alone. His writings were controversial within the Catholic Church during his lifetime and were not fully published until after his death. The publisher describes the book as aiming to show that religious and scientific viewpoints can work in tandem to address larger questions about existence, rather than being used to disprove one another. No detailed biography of Landry beyond his aerospace engineering background accompanied the announcement.
