Hrithik Roshan Moves Behind the Camera for Prime Video Thriller ‘Storm’

Hrithik Roshan is producing a series for the first time, backing a Mumbai-based thriller called Storm coming to Prime Video via HRX Films (part of FilmKraft Productions). The streamer announced the project this week, describing it as a high-stakes drama built around an ensemble of women leads.
The series is created and directed by Ajitpal Singh, whose feature Fire in the Mountains drew festival attention in recent years, with the narrative developed by Singh together with Francois Lunel and Swati Das. Roshan is producing alongside his brother Eshaan Roshan, and the announcement was made as part of Prime Video’s broader 2026 slate reveal in Mumbai, where a second HRX Films project, Mess, was also announced, according to independent reports.
The cast includes Parvathy Thiruvothu, Alaya F, Srishti Shrivastava, Rrama Sharma, and Saba Azad. Filming will commence in the near term, with no confirmed timeline or premiere date disclosed.
Gaurav Gandhi, Prime Video’s vice president for APAC and MENA, called the partnership with Roshan and HRX Films a milestone for the platform’s push into what he described as storytelling that resonates with global audiences. Roshan, in his own statement, said the streaming move felt like an instinctive choice given Prime Video’s track record, and pointed to Singh’s script as the draw, calling the world of the story raw and layered.
Over 20 years, Roshan has established himself as a top-tier Hindi film actor and six-time Filmfare Award winner. A producing credit on a streaming series is a new lane for him, and Storm is the test case.
Studio CarryOnHarry will be watching whether Storm signals a real pivot toward series production for Roshan or a one-off experiment tied to this particular script.

Alia Bhatt attended a special screening of "Om Ka Hari" in Mumbai this week to support her mother, actress Soni Razdan, who stars in the film. Bhatt shared a photo from the screening on Instagram, praised the film as "a gem of a film, so full of heart" and urged audiences to see it, according to reports.
Harish Vyas directed this latest project featuring Razdan. Razdan has been a working actress since the 1980s and is married to filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt; she is Alia Bhatt’s mother and the mother of author Shaheen Bhatt. Alia Bhatt, one of Hindi cinema’s most prominent leading actresses, has built a career largely separate from her parents’ filmmaking legacy, her visible support for her mother’s work garnered attention from those following the family’s entertainment connections.

The Film Federation of India’s 14-member jury gave Ranveer Singh’s action drama "Dhurandhar" four votes that selects the country’s official entry for the Academy Awards, according to jury member Vivek Vaswani. "Gondhal," a Marathi-language film, was selected over it.
Each year, the Film Federation of India assembles a jury to select one film as India’s official submission for the Best International Feature category at the Oscars. The selection has long drawn debate in the industry, since a jury vote often overrides box office performance or star power in choosing which film gets submitted.
Vaswani said according to reports, the jury determined that "Dhurandhar" failed to sufficiently satisfy the selection criteria for Oscar submissions, according to reports of his comments. The distribution of the remaining ten votes was not disclosed by Vaswani, and the Federation has not issued a separate public statement breaking down the jury’s full deliberations beyond what Vaswani has said.
"Dhurandhar" stars Ranveer Singh and has been one of the more talked-about Hindi releases of the year. "Gondhal" is a Marathi-language film that will now go forward as India’s official Oscar submission.
Studio CarryOnHarry will be watching whether the Federation releases a fuller account of the jury’s reasoning, since a single member’s explanation is not the same as an official breakdown of the vote.
