Destini Baccus has completed her new book “The Loving Dead”: an electrifying supernatural romance novel about a zombie’s feelings for his human love.

Years ago, Drake was terrified of the zombies he came across. He thought they were nothing but glutinous husks, but he was wrong. Zombies aren’t mindless walking drones whose only purpose in life is to feast on the living. The love Drake feels for his crush in his current zombified state is more than enough evidence for Drake to prove otherwise. This year, he is going to win the heart of his precious Abbie.

Recently, a rather persistent zombie has left Abbie gifts: food, hygiene supplies, clothes, and more. She will never fall for a zombie. Even if he does love her, he is still a disgusting rotting corpse who, at the end of the day, will still crave her flesh. There are only a couple of things Abbie can do in this situation—either smash his brains open or fill his head with lead for her own protection.

Author Destini Baccus writes, “Instinctively, I let out a low groan as I hungrily drooled and turned around to see…the most adorable creature on the face of the earth. The hunger I felt died out as I saw the malnourished brown skin, pastel-orange hair, and black eyes of the woman before me. Instead, the hunger that I felt was replaced with an intense feeling that I hadn’t felt in a long time. But before I could do anything, the woman aimed her gun straight at my abdomen, and she shot at me. I screamed, thanks to the sudden, sharp, and blinding pain; slipped on the ice; and fell back.”

Published by Newman Springs Publishing, Destini Baccus’ unique tale invites readers to discover whether Drake will win over Abbie’s heart. Will Abbie come to accept Drake’s love with open arms? Is a relationship between the pair feasible in the first place?

Readers who wish to experience this original work can purchase “The Loving Dead” at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iBooks Store, Amazon, or Barnes & Noble.

Why Music Matters—Especially in Later Life

The release of Magical Musical Memories aligns with research indicating music’s capacity to reduce stress and rekindle recollection among people living with dementia. It also echoes widely shared experiences—from football legend Sir Alex Ferguson to the family of singer Tony Christie—of music’s unique ability to unlock the past.

Inside the Community Spirit

“From the songs that we danced to at our first school dance, to the albums that became the soundtrack of our lives, each memory is a testament to the moments that have defined us,” said Helen Davies-Parsons, Chief Executive of Dormy Care Communities. “Music can transport us back to a specific time and place. Through these recollections, memories will now live on.”

How to Buy the Book—and Support Local Charities

The coffee-table style book is priced at £15. Copies can be purchased by contacting any of the five homes directly; card payments can be taken over the phone and books can be posted. A portion of every sale will be donated to local charities.
