Author J.S. Lowman’s New Audiobook, “The Kurrus Khronicles: Khronicle One,” is the Thrilling Tale of Two Lovers and Their Family’s Role in Their Magical World’s History
[ad_1]
“As now being told by Aura, these tales have been used to teach the children and now the grandchildren of Kurrus and Moraga,” writes Lowman. “They are tools to teach them how to use the gifts bestowed upon them by the Gods. They are also a means of telling the truth about their family, truths known by few in this Realm and beyond. These are the tales of one families’ part in the actual history of these lands and not the half-truths as told by those with reputations and power to preserve. Within, these tales…you will see those truths unfold and the events that brought them about. More than that, you will see the love that Kurrus and Moraga share as Bond-mates and all that came from that love, despite the efforts of those who would keep them apart. You will also learn what it means…to be of the Blackhand.”
Published by Audiobook Network, author J.S. Lowman’s new audiobook is the first installment in the author’s thrilling “The Kurrus Khronicles” series, and is a powerful story of good and evil, and the misconceptions that both can inspire. Thought-provoking and expertly paced, this poignant and character-driven epic will transport readers to a brand new, fully realized world and leave them desperate for more with each turn of the page as shocking twists and family secrets are revealed.
Listeners can purchase the audiobook edition of “The Kurrus Khronicles: Khronicle One” by J.S. Lowman through Audible, the Apple iTunes store, or Amazon.
Audiobooks are the fastest growing segment in the digital publishing industry. According to The Infinite Dial 2019, 50% of Americans age 12 and older have listened to an audiobook. This huge growth can be partly attributed to increased listening in cars, which surpassed the home as the #1 audiobook listening location in the 2019 survey. Smart speaker proliferation also bodes well for future listening growth and more mainstream listening.

James Geil’s Memoir Recalls a 1960s Boyhood in East Pakistan
Balle Balle Radio™ Entertainment Desk
James Geil has published a memoir recounting his boyhood years in what was then East Pakistan, now Bangladesh, during the early 1960s. "Tales from East Pakistan": Boyhood Memories of Living Overseas is drawn from Geil’s own recollections of growing up overseas and traveling through South Asia, the Middle East and Europe during that period, according to the announcement.
Geil spent 35 years teaching nautical science at Tabor Academy in Marion, Massachusetts, a boarding school with a maritime program, where he also captained the Tabor Boy, the school’s 92-foot training vessel. He took up writing after retiring from that career, according to the announcement.
The book centers on Geil’s childhood exposure to the region’s cultures and historic sites during a period of significant geopolitical change in South Asia, in the years before East Pakistan’s 1971 split from Pakistan and emergence as independent Bangladesh. "My memories of those formative years abroad remained vivid throughout my career, and I felt compelled to preserve them for future generations," Geil said in the announcement. "I hope readers will find in these pages a window into a remarkable period of global history and the transformative nature of cross-cultural experience."
The book is published through Newman Springs Publishing and is available at bookstores and through major online retailers including Amazon, Apple Books, Google Play and Barnes & Noble.
Studio CarryOnHarry sees this as part of a steady stream of personal memoirs finding an audience among readers drawn to firsthand accounts of a world, and a region, that looked very different six decades ago.

Richard A. Chrismer’s New Memoir Traces Path From Orphanage to Vietnam Service to the Missouri Statehouse
Balle Balle Radio™ Entertainment Desk
Richard A. Chrismer has published a new memoir, "Reflections on Life: From Orphanage to Military and Beyond," tracing his path from an orphaned childhood through military service in Vietnam and into a career in Missouri state politics. The book is out now through Newman Springs Publishing.
According to the announcement, Chrismer spent part of his childhood in an orphanage before going on to serve three tours of duty in Vietnam with the Air Force, where he was decorated with multiple Bronze and Silver service stars. He later served as a Missouri State Representative, where the announcement credits him with championing veterans’ benefits and authoring a state tax cut described as record-breaking.
The memoir covers that arc directly, according to the publisher’s description, moving from the hardship of his early years through his military record and into his legislative work. It also turns to his personal life, including his marriage to Mary and his four children, framing those relationships as central to the story he wanted to tell.
"My intention in writing this book was to share how my life has been touched by others and how I, in turn, have affected those I have met along my journey," Chrismer said in the announcement. "I hope these reflections will inspire readers to recall their own moments of connection and to recognize the profound impact they have had on those around them."
The publisher frames the work as exploring how personal significance is measured not by individual accomplishment but by one’s impact on others, a theme it says runs through Chrismer’s accounts of encounters with both political figures and ordinary people over his decades in public service.
"Reflections on Life: From Orphanage to Military and Beyond" is available now through major booksellers, including Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Google Play, and the Apple iTunes Store, as well as directly through Newman Springs Publishing.
Studio CarryOnHarry is interested in how Chrismer’s legislative record, particularly the veterans’ benefits work, holds up against the broader story of Vietnam-era veterans entering state politics in the decades after their service.
