Battle Creek, MI, May 22, 2023 –(CarryOnHarry.com)– Luke West, who has been a dungeon/game master for many years, has completed his new book, “Journeys: Core Rulebook”: a compelling and intuitive guide to playing the author’s newly devised tabletop game, “Journeys.”

“A year and a half of adventure, battle, love, and betrayal has all come down to this final encounter,” writes West. “The GM is playing epic music. The pizza is going cold, and you can hear a ceremonial slurp of soda before every dice roll. Your character was raised by a great wizard of a father and a priest-like sage of a mother. You grew up around books and magic, yet because you picked up a sword, spells have been forever blocked from your path. Why? Because your class just doesn’t work that way. Too bad you can’t use that life-saving scroll your party has kept in your bag all campaign.

“Time to throw off the shackles! ‘Journeys: Role-Playing Game’ is designed to be balanced, filled with options, and yet nothing about your character’s life choices prevents him from trying something new. In this system, the character’s journey is truly yours. Your every action will determine how you grow. Want to cast magic? Everyone starts somewhere. It may blow up in your face, but you will have learned something about how to not make the magical mistake again. Want to be a warrior? Then you better start picking up some steel and training with it over some poor monster’s skull.

“The rules of ‘Journeys’ provide your GM with a strong referee system to make the world solidly realistic yet open enough to be wildly fantastic. When you create your character, you may start as anything you can imagine. No combination of skills is beyond the light of the rules here. But choose carefully what you decide to specialize in, because changing your mind later will mean having to work from ground zero on up. Your journey starts here.”

Published by Newman Springs Publishing, Luke West’s riveting guidebook is the perfect tool for those wishing to switch up their tabletop gaming experience, providing a fascinating game in which any character can achieve anything they choose to work towards, leading to endless paths and stories one can take. Drawing on his years of experience as a game master, West provides a thrilling new way to play that is sure to be a hit with newcomers and experienced tabletop players alike.

Nancy Chance’s New Book Traces Fallen Angels and Ancient Origins Through Biblical Texts

Balle Balle Radio™ Entertainment Desk

Author Nancy Chance has released "Ancient History of Man, the Fallen Angels, and Religions," a book examining humanity’s earliest history through the lens of biblical and ancient texts, published through Christian Faith Publishing.

The book draws on the Holy Bible and the Book of Enoch, along with what the announcement describes as extensive research across scientific, historical, and journalistic sources. Its narrative opens with what Chance characterizes as creation’s original state of perfection, then moves to the descent of fallen angels to Earth and the disruption that followed. The Book of Enoch, an ancient Jewish religious text not included in most biblical canons, has long been a touchstone for writers and theologians interested in the fallen angels narrative referenced briefly in Genesis, and Chance’s book builds its account around that same source material alongside scripture.

Chance came to this project after a career in nursing. The author started her creative pursuits with teenage poetry, progressed through short stories and screenplays, and after leaving nursing pursued this theological work. This new book follows an earlier, shorter work, "One God and the Fallen Angels," and the publisher describes it as an expanded treatment of the same research and themes.

In a statement, Chance explained her motivation: "I felt compelled to share this narrative because it illuminates not only the struggle between light and darkness, but God’s constant love for His creation." "Through extensive research and biblical foundation, I hope readers will come to know Him intimately and understand their place in this epic narrative."

The publisher positions the book as a resource for readers interested in biblical and historical perspectives on the origins of human civilization and its relationship to the divine. It’s available through Christian Faith Publishing’s website, as well as Amazon, Apple iTunes, Google Play, and Barnes and Noble.

Studio CarryOnHarry will be watching to see whether this expanded volume reaches a wider readership than Chance’s earlier book on the same subject, or whether it mainly serves the audience already familiar with her work.

New Children’s Book Pairs Faith Themes With a Mystery About Fruit Jars and a Vanished Town

Balle Balle Radio™ Entertainment Desk

Tina Vincent has released "Christina Fullofjoy in the Land of Fruit Jars," a children’s book centered on a young girl piecing together why her town no longer resembles the place her grandmother once described, published through Christian Faith Publishing.

The story follows Christina, described in the publisher’s synopsis as sweet-spirited and playful, as she recalls her grandmother’s stories about a community built around enormous, beautiful fruit jars and the joy that once surrounded them. Puzzled by how much has changed, she sets out to understand what happened. Her search leads her to Lamb, an elf-like companion, and to a set of unusual seeds that the synopsis describes as turning out to be the answer the town needed without anyone realizing it.

According to the publisher, the book uses that central friendship and mystery to explore trust and spiritual growth, framing Christina’s discovery as a lesson in believing in what can’t be seen. Vincent, characterized in the release as an entrepreneur, speaker, mother and grandmother, created the book to fill what she perceived as a void in children’s publishing.

"My desire with this story is to kindle a flame of faith in young hearts," Vincent said in the announcement. "I want children to understand that believing in things not seen is not only possible—it’s beautiful and necessary for walking closely with the Lord."

The book is categorized as juvenile fiction and is available through bookstores and major online retailers, including Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Google Play, and the Apple iTunes Store, as well as directly through the publisher’s website.

Studio CarryOnHarry notes that faith-based children’s fiction built around a mystery-and-friendship structure, rather than direct allegory, tends to land well with the age group it’s aimed at — worth watching how this one is received by young readers and the parents buying it for them.
