Author Sondra Ammeen’s New Book, “Drink Your Juice from a Fancy Glass,” is an Assortment of Poems and Ruminations That Recount the Author’s Journey with Stage 4 Cancer

New York, NY, May 16, 2023 –(CarryOnHarry.com)– Sondra Ammeen has completed her new book, “Drink Your Juice from a Fancy Glass”: a collection of four poetry books written by the author following her diagnosis of stage 4 breast cancer in which she reflects on her life and the different emotions she felt following her diagnosis, as well as poems relating to other cancer survivors who speak candidly about their own experiences.

After graduating from Seton Hill University with a B.A. in Psychology and English, author Sondra Ammeen earned a master’s degree in administration from Wichita State University. Her career has ranged from high school English teacher to director of community education to high school principal. Upon retiring from education, she joined her husband in a telecommunications business when at the age 53, the author was told she had stage two breast cancer. She opted for a mastectomy and a regimen of cancer drugs, but after twenty-six happy, healthy years, her cancer came back as stage 4 MBC. At that time, she made the decision to do what she could for others and took pen to paper.

Ammeen writes, “My series of poetry books have been able to help survivors and their families by exploring more about symptoms, expectations, and hope. I began this project by simply sharing my experiences and then realized how cathartic writing is for me. Maybe I have taken a bad situation and made it better, not only for me but for lots of others.”

Published by Page Publishing, Sondra Ammeen’s enlightening tale is a powerful series designed to uplift readers who may find themselves in a similar situation to the author, providing a light to help guide oneself through a dark and difficult time. Combining the author’s sense of wit and humor with the seriousness of her situation, Ammeen presents a unique perspective on receiving a stage 4 cancer diagnosis.

Readers who wish to experience this engaging work can purchase “Drink Your Juice from a Fancy Glass” at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iTunes Store, Amazon, Google Play, or Barnes and Noble.

Book Traces Ryder Scott’s Rise from Depression-Era Pennsylvania to Global Energy Consultancy

Balle Balle Radio™ Entertainment Desk

Ronald Harrell, P.E., has written a company history of Ryder Scott Company, the Houston-based petroleum consulting firm where he spent nearly four decades, rising to CEO and principal shareholder before retiring in 2006. The 294-page book, "Beneath the Surface: The Legacy of Ryder Scott Company," was published in late July through Page Publishing.

The company’s story begins in the mid-1930s when two Pennsylvania entrepreneurs, Harry Ryder and David Scott, created it to assist oil and gas producers in boosting yields from the Bradford field. When Bradford’s production fell, the enterprise pursued geographic expansion, establishing itself first in Wichita Falls before relocating to Houston, building a presence across Oklahoma and Texas along the way, per the press release.

Harrell joined the company in 1968 and eventually led its shift toward financial institutions and asset evaluation work, services used by both private operators and publicly traded energy companies. His credentials include a petroleum engineering qualification from Louisiana Tech and consulting work spanning various global regions, background the announcement points to as the source of the book’s technical and business detail.

According to the publisher, the book covers roughly eighty-five years of company history, including the people and decisions the announcement credits with turning a regional firm into a partner for major energy operations worldwide. "This book represents my effort to preserve the legacy of remarkable people and transformative work that defined Ryder Scott Company," Harrell said in the announcement, adding that he hopes readers come away with an appreciation for how the company adapted over time.

"Beneath the Surface" is available in bookstores and through Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Google Play, and the Apple iTunes Store, as well as directly through Page Publishing’s website.

Two new consciousness‑style paperbacks on Amazon

Two new consciousness‑style paperbacks on Amazon, Author Ruby Dosanjh has released, expanding a growing body of atmospheric, introspective fiction. The titles — Likewise and Otherwise — explore the quiet emotional shifts that happen between two people who are paying attention.

The first release, Likewise, is a story about subtlety and mirrored feeling. It follows the second meeting that changes the first, the presence that fits too perfectly, and the kind of recognition that arrives without language. Described as “a quiet echo,” the book offers a soft, atmospheric experience for readers who sense emotional shifts before they can name them. Some connections linger — not because they’re forced to, but because they belong.

The second paperback, Otherwise, moves into deeper territory. It traces the moment reflection becomes truth, when two people think of each other without stopping and without softening it into something smaller. What begins as quiet awareness grows into something unmistakable — familiar, unsettling, and impossible to ignore. Otherwise follows the slow, honest shift from noticing to knowing, and the quiet courage it takes to stop pretending nothing is happening.

Together, the releases mark a clear evolution in Ruby Dosanjh’s one‑word consciousness series — stories that move gently, speak quietly, and leave a lasting imprint. Both paperbacks are now available worldwide on Amazon.
