Deena Trudy’s First Feature Film, “Toke N’ Choke Dispensary,” Nears Completion in Final Stages of Post-Production
The story follows the staff of a local dispensary as it begins to spiral into chaos amid the threat of asset forfeiture by a Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) agent with a personal history involving one of the main characters. According to the official IMDb synopsis, Toke N’ Choke Dispensary centers on rising tension when “a bully DEA agent Ronnie has a history with” initiates proceedings that jeopardize the dispensary’s survival.
Trudy, who previously created and directed the comedy web series version of Toke N’ Choke and crime film Ganked, said during a podcast interview that her intention with Toke N’ Choke Dispensary was “to create something original, a movie that will really bring some truth to the screen.” When asked during a red carpet interview at the Grammy Awards whether the film is comparable to Pineapple Express, Trudy responded, “No, I wouldn’t compare it to Pineapple Express.”
Trudy appears in the film in addition to directing and producing. She is joined by Glenn Lawrence, who plays the film’s primary antagonist. Lawrence is a film and television actor, as well as the host of a popular podcast, and has recently appeared at several public events alongside Trudy, including the Grammy Awards and other major industry functions.
The official release date for Toke N’ Choke Dispensary will be announced soon.

Kathleen Austin has published "Beary Best Friends A Visit to the Dentist," the third book in her children’s series, through Page Publishing.
The series follows a group of bear characters through everyday childhood experiences, and this installment centers on a trip to the dentist. According to the publisher’s synopsis, the book ends with the characters walking out of the dental office and wondering where their next adventure will take them, a framing consistent across the earlier entries in the series and one that suggests Austin is building toward further books rather than closing out the story.
Austin, a graduate of Hunterdon Central High School, lives in Milford, New Jersey, with her husband. She has said the characters draw on people in her own life, including her nephew Anthony, her cousin Stephen Perry, who lives in England, and her son Jeffrey Jr. The book’s dedication credits Dr. Thomas Evers and his staff, whom Austin has said informed the story’s approach to dental care.
"I wanted to create a story that shows children how a trip to the dentist can actually be an adventure," Austin stated according to the press release. "Through the eyes of my beloved characters, I hope every child discovers that taking care of their teeth is something to embrace with joy and confidence."
The publisher describes the book as aimed at easing children’s anxiety about dental visits through themes of courage and friendship. "Beary Best Friends A Visit to the Dentist" is available in paperback and through major retailers including Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Google Play, and the Apple iTunes Store.

Retired Aerospace Engineer Matt Landry Publishes Book on Teilhard de Chardin and the Science-Religion Divide

Matt Landry, a retired aerospace engineer based in Denver, authored "The Evolutionary Lens of Teilhard de Chardin," a 440-page book examining how the ideas of the French Jesuit priest and paleontologist Pierre Teilhard de Chardin might offer a way to reconcile scientific and religious understandings of human origins.
The book, published through Page Publishing, was released in January 2026 and runs 440 pages in paperback, according to publisher listings. An audiobook edition, narrated by John Bundy, is also available.
Teilhard de Chardin, who died in 1955, spent much of his career trying to fit the theory of evolution into a Christian theological framework, arguing that the universe was moving toward greater complexity and consciousness rather than unfolding by chance alone. His writings were controversial within the Catholic Church during his lifetime and were not fully published until after his death. Landry’s book applies that framework to a broader argument: that in Landry’s view, scientific and religious inquiry should be seen as mutually reinforcing rather than antagonistic.
"Nietzsche suggests that ‘peering into the abyss’ is a frightening exercise, but a clear-eyed grasp of the near-infinite universe can yield not only a better understanding of it, but one in which we ourselves can be seen as more relevant to it," Landry writes, according to the publisher’s description. He frames Teilhard de Chardin’s perspective as a way to see how, in his words, "the great human enterprises of science and religion can harmonize into a grand vision of reality."
The publisher describes the book as aiming to show that religious and scientific viewpoints can work in tandem to address larger questions about existence, rather than being used to disprove one another. No detailed biography of Landry beyond his aerospace engineering background accompanied the announcement.
