Diana White’s New Book, “Funkanometry Goes to UCLA Freshmen Year: Book 1,” is a Fictional Tale Based Around the Real Lives of the Hip-Hop Dancing Duo Funkanometry
[ad_1]
White writes, “Funkanometry are two young male alternative hip-hop dancers. They were on WOD and AGT. They were attending UCLA. While they were there in LA, they wanted to continue to teach dance like they did in Vancouver Island, Canada. Then they rented a very large space in LA and have it remodeled. Perfect for hip-hop or any style of dance. A place for dance battles. They faced the challenges of dealing with setting up the space, finding students, and facing challenges all new business face. They decided that they could sublet space that they renovated.
“Dani and her best friend Noel talked about how they needed to earn some extra money. They had run a small studio in their hometown, Lewes, Delaware. Living 3,000 miles from home at UCLA. The price of tuition was straining both sets of their parents. Carlow had found out from Noel that she taught dance in her past. Noel and Dani were looking for a studio to hire them. Noel taught jazz, acro, and tap, and Dani taught ballet. Things heated up quickly between the pairs. The girls’ parents were not happy; the romance between the two couples was fun-loving and intensely passionate.”
Published by Fulton Books, Diana White’s book is inspired by the real-life dancing duo Funkanometry, whom the author has bonded over with her grandson while watching their videos together on TikTok. “Funkanometry Goes to UCLA Freshmen Year: Book 1” is the perfect read for longtime fans of Funkanometry and newcomers alike, who will find a riveting and stirring tale of friendship, hard work, and the group’s desire to make a positive impact on the world and their fans.

Retired Sacramento Pulmonologist Pitches Self-Monitoring Alternative to Health-Care Bureaucracy in New Book
Balle Balle Radio™ Entertainment Desk
Del Meyer, a Sacramento-based pulmonologist, has authored a book contending that the central challenge in American health care stems not from clinical medicine but from the bureaucratic and insurance infrastructure surrounding it. "Health Care America" is out now through Fulton Books.
Meyer’s argument centers on routine, preventive care rather than acute or hospital treatment. According to the announcement, the book lays out an algorithm-based approach that would let individuals track their own wellness and routine health indicators without routing every check through a physician visit or insurance claim, reserving the traditional system for cases that genuinely require hospital-level care. The publisher describes the aim as lowering the cost of day-to-day health monitoring while keeping outcomes steady or improving them through structured, self-directed protocols.
Meyer’s background is clinical rather than political. The announcement credits him with establishing the first comprehensive pulmonary services program in the Sacramento region and building a career around chronic disease management, after training that the publisher describes as at some of the nation’s top institutions. That combination of bedside medicine and systems-level frustration is the lens the book is written through, per the announcement.
"This book emerged from the recognition that Americans pay for complexity and bureaucracy rather than better health," Meyer said in the announcement. "By returning control to informed patients and streamlining diagnostic protocols, we can transform health care from an expensive, frustrating experience into an efficient, accessible system that serves everyone better."
The book joins a long shelf of health-policy critiques aimed at American insurance and administrative costs, a debate that has run for decades among health economists without consensus on a fix. Meyer’s contribution is notably specific and tool-based rather than purely diagnostic, proposing a protocol readers can act on rather than simply a critique of the system as it stands.
"Health Care America" is available through Fulton Books’ website, Amazon, Apple Books, Google Play, and Barnes & Noble.
Studio CarryOnHarry will be watching whether Meyer’s self-monitoring framework draws interest from health economists or physicians outside his own practice — a credentialed author with hands-on clinical experience is a stronger starting point than most self-published health critiques get.

Anthony V. Pugliese Expands 2020 Horror Collection in New Edition of “All Things Truly Wicked”
Balle Balle Radio™ Entertainment Desk
Anthony V. Pugliese has released a second edition of "All Things Truly Wicked," an expanded version of the horror and supernatural fiction collection he first self-published in 2020, through Newman Springs Publishing.
The new edition revises the original ten stories and adds fresh material, including seven original poems, according to the book’s listing. Stories range from a priest confronting a Mayan bat-demon in the Yucatan and an alien invasion told through a teenage outcast’s perspective to a centuries-old witch reborn via curse and an ancient, hungry entity growing in a backyard flower bed. The book draws its title from a line in Ernest Hemingway’s "A Moveable Feast."
Pugliese was raised in Steelton, Pennsylvania, and now lives in Harrisburg. He’s a former Pennsylvania National Guard member and retired Commonwealth employee who has also pursued paranormal research and co-hosts a podcast on unexplained phenomena, interests the publisher says shape the book’s sense of dread. He cites Stephen King, Dean Koontz, William Peter Blatty, and Ira Levin as influences, and has previously published in small-press magazines, anthologies, and academic journals.
The book’s description frames its recurring theme as moral erosion rather than sudden villainy: characters who begin as ordinary people are pushed, gradually, toward supernatural reckonings that accelerate a fall already underway. "These stories ask uncomfortable questions about the capacity for darkness within us all," Pugliese said in a statement. "I wanted to create narratives where readers cannot simply dismiss the characters as villains, because their descent into wickedness feels disturbingly plausible."
The publisher’s description notes that some scenes are graphic, and that the stories lean on religious and folkloric elements to ground their supernatural premises.
"All Things Truly Wicked (Second Edition)" is available through Newman Springs Publishing’s website, Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Google Play, and the Apple iTunes Store, as well as at bookstores. Studio CarryOnHarry will be curious whether the added poetry and new stories meaningfully extend the 2020 original or mostly round out its edges.
