Born and raised in St. Louis, author Shadahyah Elizabeth first began writing when she was twelve years old with her sisters. Those stories were only for their amusement, but as they continued to write, she found herself drawn to the art of storytelling. Her love of writing only continued to grow as she got older, where at times she would find herself writing down stories or story ideas while in class, both out of fear of forgetting it and the pull to put pen to paper. After graduating from Saint Louis University with a communications degree, she realized that writing was her true passion, and after taking a year off, she went back to school and got her MA in creative writing from Southern New Hampshire University, then her MFA in creative writing from Lindenwood University. She is determined to learn all she can about the craft she has fallen in love with.
“Telepathy is an ability Arianna Miller has had her entire life,” writes Shadahyah. “It is a gift that she and her sister have inherited from their mother but have been told to keep a secret from everyone, including Arianna’s stepfather, Marshal. The only person outside her family that knows about the secret is her best friend, Rosy Mendez, who has kept the secret for years. Then on the first day of her senior year of high school, Arianna meets the town’s miscreant, Evan Jackson, the son of the governor and high school principal, who she soon discovers shares the same unique ability as her.

When their paths cross, the two suddenly feel an intense pull toward each other but are warned to stay away from each other due to a secret Arianna’s ‘on again, off again’ boyfriend, Jason Richardson, and Evan share. Millbrook resident Betty Kiser, who works as an artist and writer, has released the devotional "Trusting God with Your Change of Seasons" via Christian Faith Publishing.
Through a Christian faith perspective, the devotional explores significant life transitions including career changes, empty nests, relocation, and shifts in marital status, per the publisher’s statement. Kiser draws on Romans 8:28 and Joshua 1:9 throughout, using those passages to argue that age shouldn’t be treated as a barrier to pursuing new direction later in life.
Kiser has spent roughly six decades working as an artist, writer, mentor and teacher, the announcement states. She now works from what she calls her Forever Home and Art Gallery, a space she describes as combining her art practice with her religious life. "My deepest desire is to help others see that every change, every season shift, is an opportunity to deepen our trust in God and discover His faithfulness anew," Kiser said in the announcement.
The book is available in hardcover and paperback through major retailers including Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and the Apple iTunes and Google Play stores, as well as directly through Christian Faith Publishing’s website.

Author Tonya Williams Turns Life on Her Wisconsin Ranch Into Children’s Book, “The Adventures of Loki and Friends”

Tonya Williams has released "The Adventures of Loki and Friends," a children’s book told from the perspective of a rescue puppy who finds a home on a working ranch full of animals. The book is published through Christian Faith Publishing.
The story is narrated by Loki, a stray from Texas who is taken in by a couple and brought to a farm where he meets dogs, goats, horses, cattle, potbellied pigs, and a donkey named Amos who becomes his closest friend. According to the book’s publisher description, each animal carries its own backstory, and Loki’s arrival becomes part of a larger narrative about belonging and gratitude.
Williams draws on her own experience running Never Done Ranch, a 200-acre property in Eagle, Wisconsin, where she and her husband raise cattle, horses, goats and other livestock alongside their pets. In the announcement, she said animals have been "God’s instrument" in teaching her about love, forgiveness and purpose, and that she wanted Loki’s story to show children that pets are "teachers of the heart."
