Tell us about yourself ?

Skye-Delamey-music-artistSkye Delamey *solo artist with back up band (rock) Los Angeles, California, USA Goal in life: To continue to make music and share my songs with the world. This is my life’s goal and purpose.

How long you been in performing arts ?

since early childhood

What was most attractive part for you to be in this industry ?

Meeting interesting people, colorful personalities. Bringing people together, through shows and performances, contributing to the music scene, bringing people together, and sharing my songs, as well as the message behind the songs I write. Speaking to an audience has been another attractive aspect of the industry…to have a “voice.”

Share some experiences ( good or bad ) any that made you grow in life or profession ?

Skye-Delamey-music-artistAs a child in traditional school, knowing that my life path would be more creative. I very seriously embarked upon my profession after high school, knowing that was the only path for me. Good experiences include many creative projects, songs written and recorded, performances, and results…these continue to inspire me to grow in my profession.

Who inspired you ? How do you work on creating your own signature style ?

As a teen, I was inspired by Bono, and the music of U2. I have also been inspired by strong females who were not afraid to mold the life they wanted for themselves. I admired the guts it took to pave your own way.

What do you want to convey through your music?

Each song I write tell a unique story. Through my songs I want to share human emotion, share a story, share a common thread that bonds us…It means a lot to me when many from different walks of life can relate to my songs.

Story behind making of your new track / Album? ( idea of making , some interesting inspirational facts to share)

Skye-Delamey-music-artistNew upcoming album “Untamed Circus” is about empowerment. About living to the beat of your own dream, about standing up for yourself, honoring yourself and speaking your truth. “Detention, “Girlfriend Muzzle,” “Raquel,” and the title track, “Untamed Circus” are all about freedom to be empowered and not “caged,” confined, or “dismissed.” They are all songs of empowerment and freedom.

Any interesting trivia about making of song ?

One track, “Language of Ghosts,” which is the only song on the album with a message relating to the “ghosts that speak to us, guiding us/helping us…” has a cute story… During the making of the music video of this song about ghosts, many light bulbs kept burning out in my house…almost daily! Until the video was done! I felt it was the spirit of my friend Amanda Tate, for whom the song was dedicated.

People who you would like to thank ?

Amanda Tate, the friend who always inspired me, and had my back. The friend for whom I wrote the song “Language of Ghosts.” Also, “Taz,” a dear friend. I would also like to thank producer Bobby Moore, and the band members that performed my songs with me.

People who you would like to work with and people you idolize to be like professionally ?

Bono! Glen Ballard, Quincy Jones, many music makers…I have respect for many who are still doing their work! Dolly Parton…

Where do you see your music 3 years from now ?

I see many more albums in the next 3 years, as well as for the rest of my life! I see songs on radio, in film, TV, and commercials. This is my life’s path, so I”m going full throttle! There will be consistently more music, more shows, more placements of songs…as I am filled with songs, melodies and harmonies!!

How would you like to stretch your boundaries of genre in future projects ?

I love exploring different genres and have an interest writing a country song, an adult contemporary or other genres as well!
