Garphil "Geechie Dan" Bowles has published "Tears Of A Goon," the concluding installment of a three-book series following Special K., a young woman drawn back into a family war she thought was over. Studio CarryOnHarry received an announcement about the release, published through Fulton Books.

The novel picks up as adversaries whom Special K.’s father Ruthless and uncle Zoomlock thought they had eliminated return seeking revenge. The narrative reveals that the two men failed to recognize the true threat they faced, and it falls to Special K. to be the last of her family left standing.

Bowles writes from a background he’s been open about in promotional material for the series: spent thirty years in and out of prison through eight separate incarcerations before what he describes as a turn toward faith and reinvention. He grew up in Lawton, Oklahoma, and has said that history shapes the street narratives running through all three books.

"This work marks both the conclusion of Special K.’s narrative and an examination of redemption," Bowles said in the announcement. "I’ve lived these streets, served these sentences, and found grace where none seemed possible. Through this trilogy, I wanted readers to understand that no one is beyond transformation."

The publisher describes the book as pairing street-level tension with character development, built around the question of whether Special K. can outrun a legacy of violence or whether finishing the fight means giving something up herself. "Tears Of A Goon" is available now through Fulton Books’ website, Amazon, Apple iTunes Store, Google Play, and Barnes and Noble.

Through Fulton Books, former Army servicemember Steven Finch has released "Beyond the Hunt: The Journey Begins," the first entry in a four-book thriller series.

Finch explains that the narrative centers on two protagonists who connect and embark on a journey across the globe, constantly hunted by mercenaries. The female lead, he says, is trying to keep doing her job while also working with a government agency to bring down the mercenary group and the company both characters work for. Their travels take them to locations tied to their work and others meant for leisure, though per Finch’s description, the mercenaries eventually track them down wherever they go.

The author discovered his writing talent during his recovery from cardiac surgery in spring 2020, following his military discharge. He has described his motivation as wanting to provide for his children and give them a better start than he had. Outside of writing, he rides motorcycles, listens to music and spends time with his family, according to the announcement.
