Certain Animals cheerfully opens its eyes and takes a look at the past

Press Release ( Studio CarryOnHarry) :

With its first release in 2022, Certain Animals cheerfully opens its eyes and takes a look at the past. Driven by the Hammond organ, the band recalls its childhood memories.

Uninhibited, with an open mind and framed by pointed guitar riffs and a finely funky Wurlitzer, Certain Animals tells a three-part story as if it came from one mouth. Simple but effective: from sweet-voiced solitude to guitar harmonies that would not have been unworthy of the Allman brothers, and from pinprick to exploding reverb tank. Angels In Disguise strikes a balance between vintage and modern.

From the past to the present, the song takes the listener through a musical whirlwind and the accompanying unexpected beauty that man can encounter.

Hold On, Sun King, Younger Than Now and Midnight TV, the first four singles from Certain Animals’ upcoming second album have been very well received by the media in their home country of the Netherlands and abroad. The singles have been added to playlists and have been played very regularly on national radio stations. The singles were all in the Top 3 of the alternative charts on Dutch national radio. Sun King was also heard in the Dutch edition of the very popular TV program The Bachelor. In Belgium previous single Younger Than Now is currently on the playlist of national radio VRT 2 and can be heard on Studio Brussel the national pop station.

In The US and the UK you can hear the singles regularly on Amazing Radio USA and Amazing Radio UK. Radio stations from other countries that are very enthusiastic and where the music of Certain Animals can be heard are: UK, Germany, The Netherlands, France, Belgium, Croatia, Canada, USA, Jamaica, Australia, New Zealand, Austria, Italy, Switzerland and Poland

.

Singles also achieved iTunes / Apple Music Charts  in: Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Sweden and Armenia and featured in many official Spotify and Apple Music playlists.

In less then three years, the Dutch band managed to build a strong live reputation by playing shows on major Dutch festivals in famous venues all over the country, and they also performed across the border in Belgium and Germany.

While busy touring, band members Thijs van Leeuwen (vocals, guitars), Niels-Jan van Dijk (bass, vocals) and Kees Braam (drums, vocals) managed to build their own recording studio at a former red light district in the port of Rotterdam. At their home base the trio writes, produces and mixes their music single-handedly.

Angels In Disguise is out now on BERT music (a division of TCBYML)

Netflix Groups Book Adaptations Under New ‘Watch Your Favorite Books’ Collection

Balle Balle Radio Entertainment Desk

Netflix has organized its book-to-screen adaptations into a new curated genre called Watch Your Favorite Books, letting subscribers browse titles by the kind of story they’re looking for, according to Netflix Life. Other outlets covering the rollout describe the collection as available globally, adding a distribution detail the original piece didn’t include.

The move follows Netflix’s earlier Book Club initiative, which brought together authors, showrunners and cast members to discuss adaptations including Bridgerton, Sweet Magnolias and Pieces of Her.

Netflix Life’s roundup of the collection’s standouts includes Sweet Magnolias, adapted from the first three books of Sherryl Woods’ 11-part series and centered on three lifelong friends played by JoAnna Garcia Swisher, Heather Headley and Brooke Elliott. Bridgerton, based on Julia Quinn’s novels, devotes each season to a different sibling, with the outlet noting the Benedict-and-Sophie storyline in particular draws comparisons to a class-crossing fairy tale.

The list also covers One Day, adapted from David Nicholls’ novel and previously made into a 2011 film starring Anne Hathaway and Jim Sturgess, which Netflix Life argues benefits from more room to develop its Edinburgh-set storyline with Leo Woodall and Ambika Mod. Jenny Han’s Lara Jean books appear via To All the Boys, which spawned a film trilogy and the spinoff series XO, Kitty. Rounding out the list: an eight-episode take on Laura Ingalls Wilder’s Little House on the Prairie that expands on the Osage community’s role, a version of Louisa May Alcott’s Little Women that gives extra time to Beth’s illness and Jo and Laurie’s relationship, and My Life With the Walter Boys, based on Ali Novak’s novel about a teenager who moves in with a large blended family after tragedy.

Netflix hasn’t said how often the Watch Your Favorite Books collection will be updated or how titles are selected for it.
