Bollywood actress Tamannaah Bhatia, currently starring in ‘Do You Wanna Partner’ alongside Diana Penty, has recently spoken out about the challenges and perceptions faced by actors, particularly women, in the film industry. In the series, Bhatia and Penty portray ambitious women venturing into the male-dominated beer business. During an interview with Hindustan Times, Bhatia shared her experiences with condescension and emphasized the need for actors to continuously evolve and adapt to secure roles throughout their careers.

Bhatia recounted an instance where she felt patronized during a hiring process, stating, “People often think they are doing you some sort of a favour.” She highlighted that such attitudes are prevalent and often accompanied by an expectation of gratitude for simply offering support.

Addressing the topic of actors finding fewer substantial roles as they age, Bhatia dismissed the notion of dwelling on missed opportunities. She asserted, “As actors, it’s also about upping your game,” and added that excessive self-pity is unproductive. Bhatia stressed the importance of constant evolution and innovation to remain relevant and in demand. She believes actors must proactively shape their careers by consistently bringing something new and valuable to the table, especially in an unpredictable industry. ‘At this age, I expect to get certain characters. Ten years down the line, if I want the same kind of work or even a different kind of work, I have to be that good that it is written for me.’

Regarding ‘Do You Wanna Partner’, a review by News18 Showsha described the series as having a refreshing premise – two women disrupting the beer industry – but noted that the execution involves a series of far-fetched subplots. Despite the lack of logic, the review acknowledges that the show is entertaining, with the engaging cast and chaotic storyline keeping viewers hooked.
