Studio CarryOnHarry in talks with Bill Abernathy Music Artist on his new music release titled A Thousand Wild Horses. Here in candid interview with the artist where we tried to find out the story behind about his new song and what went into making of his new song and excitement around new release.
Tell us about yourself ?
I am a singer songwriter based in Kansas City Missouri, USA. I am known as a storyteller with a guitar. I share my story through songs, with the goal of sharing my life experiences and subsequent lessons through song.
How long you been in performing arts ?
I’ve been playing music all my life. I started playing at 8 years old and continue today. Over 50 years sharing with fans
What was most attractive part for you to be in this industry ?
The most beneficial element of being in the music industry is when a fan communicates their interest with what I do, and they take a little something away from the music that helps them along their life’s path
Share some experiences ( good or bad ) any that made you grow in life or profession ?
When a fan tells me a song has made an impact in their lives, that really tells me that we are doing things right.
Who inspired you ? How do you work on creating your own signature style ?
Like many musicians, I have many artists who have inspired me. Dan Fogelberg, Steven Stills, Jackson Browne, Kenny Loggins, and so many more. I think emulating these fine artists is a great way to discover who you are musically. Though I don’t copy what each does, there are elements of their styles incorporated into how I play.
What do you want to convey through your music?
Life lessons. I have picked up a few things along life’s journey that may help another make better decisions, or console them in some way.
Story behind making of your new track / Album?
My newest single is called A Thousand Wild Horses. This tune talks about how each of us carry historical baggage with us. The analogy to our baggage and a herd of wild horses chasing us is a great way to understand how our pasts can either run over us or how we can learn from those things and learn to ride them through the rest of our lives.
Any interesting trivia about making of song ?
This is a cover song written by Gary Burr. The fist time I heard this song I immediately knew I would have to cover it. The lyrics are so real and so relatable to all of us.
People who you would like to thank ?
Michael Stover and MTS Management. Michael has given me opportunity to have my music heard across the Globe, and is a great guy to go along with his fantastic work
People who you would like to work with and people you idolize to be like professionally ?
The singer songwriters that have influenced me are folks that I really appreciate. Dan Fogelberg, Steven Stills, Jackson Browne, Kenny Loggins, and so many more. Being able to share my thoughts through music is very special and these folks inspired me to do it.
Where do you see your music 3 years from now ?
I plan to continue making music for as long as I can. As our fan base continues to grow, I want to give them new music new thoughts to listen to and think about.
How would you like to stretch your boundaries of genre in future projects ?
Our latest project, and EP named Who Are You Who Am I consists of 4 songs. Each a different genre. Rock, Country, Folk and America. I enjoy writing in different genres and will continue to choose whatever genre best fits with the story in the song.
